What CraneGenie Covers
A complete structural design pipeline — not just a calculator.
Bridge Girder Design
- Iterates thousands of box girder sections to find the lightest valid design
- Bending, shear (VQ/Ib), deflection, buckling, torsion, Von Mises checks
- Supports both Rail-at-Centre and Rail-on-Web configurations
End Carriage Design
- Iterates thousands of end truck sections grouped by wheel diameter
- 8 IS:807 checks including bending, shear, deflection, and compression
- Supports 4-wheel and 8-wheel (bogie) configurations
Wheel Load Calculations
- Complete crane weight breakdown with all structural components
- Max, min, and mean wheel loads per IS:807 load combinations
- Cabin, DSL cage, platforms — included only when applicable
Professional Calculation Notes
- Detailed Word document with formulas, diagrams, and check results
- Section properties, BM/SF diagrams, and stiffener layout
- Ready for client submission and third-party review

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about CraneGenie.
CraneGenie designs EOT (Electric Overhead Travelling) crane bridge girders in both Rail-at-Centre and Rail-on-Web box girder configurations. It supports cranes with main hook capacities from 5T to 80T, spans up to 35m, and duty classes M1 through M8.
The girder design includes 13+ checks per IS:807: vertical and horizontal bending stress, combined bending, shear stress (VQ/Ib), deflection (live and total), web height-to-thickness ratio, stiffener spacing, lateral-torsional buckling, torsion (Bredt-Batho), and Von Mises equivalent stress. The end carriage design includes 8 additional checks.
CraneGenie uses the same formulas and lookup tables as traditional manual calculations per IS:807, IS:3177, and IS:800. The engine has been validated against reference Excel sheets used by established crane manufacturers. Results match within 1–2% of manual calculations.
You get a detailed Word document (20–30 pages) containing all design inputs, section properties, load analysis with BM/SF diagrams, all stress check results with actual vs. allowable values, stiffener layout, end carriage design, and wheel load calculations. The document is formatted for direct client submission.
Yes. CraneGenie supports both automatic section selection (iterates thousands of sections to find the lightest valid one) and custom section mode where you specify your own web height, web thickness, plate thicknesses, and C-to-C web dimension. All checks are then run on your specified section.
CraneGenie uses a credit-based system — each design run consumes credits based on crane capacity: up to 20T costs 1 credit (~₹2,000), 21–50T costs 2 credits (~₹4,000), and 51–80T costs 3 credits (~₹6,000). You can try up to 3 designs free before purchasing. Credit packs start at ₹20,000 for 10 credits, with bulk discounts up to 25% on larger packs. All prices are exclusive of 18% GST. Credits are valid for 1 year from the date of purchase.
Yes. All designs are stored securely and are accessible only to your account. Each user has their own projects and designs. The application runs on secure cloud infrastructure with encrypted data transmission.
CraneGenie supports Fe410WB (IS:2062 Grade A), Fe490 (Grade B), and Fe540 (Grade C). The allowable stresses, yield strengths, and safety factors are automatically determined based on the selected grade and case of loading (indoor/outdoor).
Simple, Credit-Based Pricing
No subscriptions. Pay per design — buy credit packs as you need them.
Credits Consumed Per Design
Each design includes: bridge girder + end carriage + wheel loads + downloadable calculation note.
Effective cost shown is based on Starter pack rate (₹2,000/credit). Bulk packs offer lower per-credit rates.
Credits valid for 1 year from date of purchase.
